Yesterday, I had the privilege of attending my cousin’s graduation from Dartmouth. After 4 years of hard work, he was graduating with a degree in entrepreneurship. It was a great experience, and one I couldn’t ever forget. The afterparty was really enjoyable. Overall, I had a great time.
Its pretty much the end of the year, but one thing i’ve been thinking about lately is school start times. A few years back, I wrote a paper about the controversial issue of when school should start. Many people believe that the amount of time a student is in school is a direct factor in how much knowledge they retain. The truth however, is that early start times leave students tired, unfocused, and even unmotivated. If schools were to start later, students would be able to get the amount of sleep necessary to be successful and motivated. The issue is one that may come with many benefits and disadvantages, but its definitely a question that should be asked.
For the past few weekends, I’ve had driving school either Saturday or Sunday for roughly 7 hours a day. It was a lot of work and a lot of studying, but I think i am going to finally go for my permit exam this week. Driving school, although it took a lot of time and work, gives a lot of benefits including an insurance bonus. Overall, it was a good experience that left me much more knowledgeable and confident about the rules of the road. Despite the fact that driving school can be pricey, it makes the tasks needed to get a licence a lot easier to complete. Overall, happy it’s all done. It took a lot of time and work, but now i’m that much more confident and prepared for my permit exam and my licence exam.
